Previously produced as an eight panel flier, I was commissioned by the Minneapolis College of Art and Design’s Communication Department to redesign their biannual events brochure into a more substantial and lasting piece — including more imagery along with expanded listings and contextual entries. Each issue features an original photographic solution on the cover — executed in collaboration with a recent MCAD graduate — that celebrates the MCAD identity system. This strategy focuses on the college, rather than a solitary event — which can be problematic in terms of shelf life and image quality. Taking cues from the informal nature of a ’zine or community newsletter, the interior employs a flexible framework to allow for the variety of content. A four panel centerfold presents the entire six months of events in an adaptable and expressive calendar grid.
