Midway Contemporary Art is a small non-profit gallery in Minneapolis that focuses on emerging artists — local, national, and international alike. Their benefit auctions have become an annual event that feature a pretty amazing collection of contemporary artists. For each auction, local artists or designers often donate their design services for the announcement — which are always given an interesting or provocative title. To promote the theme "raid" we used a bold black, white, and fluorescent red color palette along with the repetition of language — in reference to the Emergency Broadcast System. Repetition was also possible on a larger scale, as the posters were designed to create a pattern when displayed together around the city.
