The Walker Art Center's annual reports often present a topic relevant to the institution along side the typical documentation one would expect. The theme for 2004–2005 was the re-opening of the Walker following the completion of their massive expansion project. Three parallel narratives run throughout the report: (1) The act of unveiling occurs via 10 single-gatefolds that reveal full-bleed and full-color architectural images, taking the reader on a photographic tour of the building’s new and renovated spaces; (2) when the gatefolds are left unopened, the events and information for 2004–2005 are readily available in a typical page-to-page layout; (3) finally, a continuous string of facts and figures about the expansion process runs along the bottom of each spread — a nod to the first iteration of the Walker’s dynamic, scrolling marquee on Hennepin Avenue.
