Each year the current Walker Design Fellows are asked to design a poster announcing the application process for the upcoming Fellowship year. Both Scott and I had previously studied photography — before moving on to design — so we decided to generate a poster limited to that medium. We also wanted to include a selection of our Walker projects — showcasing the graphic output of the fellowship program. To accomplish our goals we conceived and designed a structure using readily available materials from the Walker’s carpentry shop. After placing our work on top of the rig — and ourselves below — the entire scene was captured in one single frame by a 4 x 5 camera hoisted 30 feet above. The edition of 500 posters — each signed by Scott and I — were hand-numbered by the Walker's Design Director, Andrew Blauvelt.
